July 14, 2020 – The playground is being installed! Thanks to a grant from Trinity Health Foundation, the playground will provide this underserved community with a place to play very soon!
June 24, 2020 – We are moving dirt on the Sharp’s Ridge project! The 42-acres on the north side of the ridge was donated to Legacy Parks by the Dick family in 2017.
Construction began mid-June and started by carving out the all-access, adaptive trail at the top of the ridge and working on the downhill to the base. The new 4-mile trail system will connect into the existing city trails around the base and will offer an all-access, adaptive trail that will allow users with disabilities to experience the joy of playing in the woods! The project will also feature a natural Playspace and bike skills area on the north side of the ridge which will provide an underserved community with access to a playground.
Expected completion – September 2020
