Connecting Everyone to the Outdoors

Powell High Landing Construction Kicks Off

Construction on the adaptive dock on Beaver Creek behind Powell High School is now underway. This permanent boat launch will allow public non-motorized access to the creek for paddling recreation. Beaver Creek spans nearly the entirety of Knox County – connecting Halls to Powell and continuing to Solway and is a highly appreciated asset of the Powell community. This project accomplishes two important initiatives – creating more access to Beaver Creek and creating access to recreation for all users, including those with disabilities.

In 2017, Legacy Parks created Harrell Road Park – the county’s first stormwater demonstration park which includes two constructed stormwater wetland ponds, a rain garden, native vegetation, a three-quarter mile walking trail and a kayak and canoe launch that connects to the Beaver Creek Water Trail.
