Legacy Parks Foundation announced the donation of the McBee Ferry property in Strawberry Plains to Knox County to become a public park with access to the Holston River.
Creating access points at roughly seven-mile intervals on the Holston and French Broad rivers – part of our Head of the Tennessee Initiative – makes recreational use to these rivers more feasible and enjoyable. McBee Ferry Landing will create much needed access to the Holston River within a 22-mile stretch with no other public access point. The park will offer fishing, boat access, a gathering space, and a stunning view of the unique McBee Bridge.
