Be an Adventure Maker!

We're creating new magical places every day. You can help.

Ways to contribute

You can help support our mission by becoming a Friend of Legacy Parks! Your donation directly funds our work to preserve our area’s extraordinary natural resources, expand parks, create trails and connect greenways, preserve our shorelines and increase access to our rivers. Your generosity will make a difference in our community by allowing us to continue our work. We hope you will consider becoming a Friend of Legacy Parks today! For your convenience, we now offer automatic annual or monthly payment options.

Current Projects you can help fund

The French Broad Veterans Memorial Park, overlooking the French Broad River and the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, will be a reverent place for the community to gather, honor and celebrate our veterans.

The 1.5 mile SoKno Art Trail along the rail line in the heart of South Knoxville’s business district will stretch from Chapman Highway to Island Home neighborhood. This cultural art trail will celebrate the art, history and natural beauty of our community.

We are working to help our kids play every day by raising funds to convert five grass fields at John Tarleton Park to year-round, multi-use synthetic turf fields for football, soccer and lacrosse.

We are focused on improving the health of and access to the Holston and French Broad Rivers – the two rivers that form the Tennessee River. Through a shoreline protection program and installation of fully-accessible docks, we are making the exceptional paddling recreational experience accessible for all.

Beaver Creek

We are working collaboratively with Knox County to establish universal access to Beaver Creek, a 44-mile water trail and premier paddling destination that spans the length of Knox County.

Powell High Landing

Playing in nature should be inclusive for all users. That’s why we are working to create all-access, adaptive trails in each quadrant of the county, and adding adaptive access points along our waterways so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of being outdoors.
