Within Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness; Fort Dickerson Park features 4 miles of natural trail wind through the forest and skirt around the quarry connecting the quarry overlook, the pool below, and an earthen fort from the Civil War era. During summer months, the 350-foot deep quarry is a favorite cool-down spot for swimmers and paddlers. Only non-motorized boats are permitted.
