Thanks to Comcast Cares and the 275 volunteers who showed up to work at Baker Creek Preserve on Saturday, April 30. The work helped improve the environment and create recreational amenities at the new, 100-acre addition to Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness.
Volunteers, led by Legacy Parks and the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club, removed invasive species, cleared brush and created trails, picked up debris and trash, and helped ready the park for opening next month.
Baker Creek Preserve will feature six miles of trails, most are multi-use for hiking and mountain biking and range in difficulty from beginner to advanced, including the downhill trails for expert mountain bikers. Watch for news about the grand opening celebration soon!
