We had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to catch up with Pete McBride, photographer, filmmaker, public speaker, and last but certainly not least – adventurer. Just back from a trip to Kenya, Pete got a quick glimpse of Knoxville just in time to speak at the Legacy Luncheon for the Parks and share his tale of his recent expedition to hike the entire length of the Grand Canyon National Park – over 700 miles without a trail – earning him the honor of becoming National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year.
