The world-renowned swimmer Diana Nyad – the first person to swim the remarkable 110- mile journey from Cuba to Florida – will be the featured speaker at the annual Legacy Luncheon for Parks set for September 26th at the beautiful Strong Stock Farm in east Knox County.
At age of 64, Nyad inspired 25 million viewers globally as she proved the extraordinary strength of the human spirit in her 53 hour journey. Her incredible story of perseverance is told in her memoir Find a Way and the 2023 Netflix film Nyad.
The Legacy Luncheon for the Parks draws 1,000 civic, business, and community leaders for a picnic-style luncheon in a beautiful outdoor setting to celebrate Legacy Parks successful projects over the last year and unveil new initiatives.
