Fall Migration Bird Banding at Seven Islands SBP

Watch as trained biologists carefully capture, band, and release birds to monitor bird populations and migration. Learn why bird banding is important, what data is collected, and how this research helps protect birds and their habitats. This is a unique opportunity to see birds in the hand and gain a deeper appreciation for our feathered friends. Cost $12. Register online.

Every banding session will produce different results as migrants and resident birds move through their life cycles. This time of year we hope to catch some of the migrating warblers and other birds that are just moving through our area on their way south for the winter. Banding session is led by master bander, Clare Dattilo, Seven Islands staff, and a group of dedicated volunteers.
