Oak Ridge Trails
Legacy Parks is working with the Department of Energy and Oak Ridge trail advocates to expand the trail network on DOE land in Anderson County. Legacy Parks currently holds seven trail easements and is continuing to expand outdoor recreation opportunities in Anderson County.
The improved trail system was one of the recommendations coming out of the Oak Ridge Natural Assets Guidebook produced by Legacy Parks in 2020. Legacy Parks worked collaboratively with the City of Oak Ridge and civic and business leaders from Roane and Anderson Counties to create the guidebook in response to the community expressing the importance of the community’s natural assets in the Oak Ridge Blueprint Plan.
