Catie's Playground at Steele Creek Park

In 2024, Legacy Parks Foundation was asked to manage the construction of a $10 million privately, funded playground at Steele Creek Park in Bristol, TN.

Catie’s Playground will be located at the existing Steele Creek Park and will be a destination, fully-inclusive playspace featuring a custom play structure, several play areas for children of all ages, a storybook trail and more. It will honor the memory of Catherine Dunn Stubben, a Bristol mother of three who passed away at the age of 30.

“The project criteria we were given was to make it a park for all, a play space for all and make it a city asset that is a signature destination for the community,” said Carol Evans, executive director of Legacy Parks.

Construction on the playground is anticipated to begin in 2026.
