Bicentennial Park Dock
The Tennessee River begins in East Knoxville, where the Holston and French Broad Rivers converge just four miles from downtown. Our Head of the Tennessee Initiative works alongside TVA, TWRA, Tennessee State Parks, and local communities to increase public access to the French Broad, Holston and Tennessee Rivers. The goal of the initiative is enhance the health and accessibility to our waterways by obtaining land and easements to establish new launch areas, preserve shorelines, and conserve farmland and open space along these rivers.
In 2014, Legacy Parks increased public access to the Tennessee River in downtown Knoxville by leasing a portion of Bicentennial Park and building a new boat launch for non-motorized craft on the river.
The Bicentennial dock at Volunteer Landing is perfect for a leisurely paddle around the beautiful bridges that line Knoxville’s waterfront as well a great view of Neyalnd Stadium, the home of the Tennessee Volunteers.
The dock is used by Knoxville Adventure Collective for recreational kayaking and paddle boarding.
