In celebration of Legacy Parks’ 20th anniversary, take on the challenge to log 20 hikes before the end of the year! We’ve selected 20 of our favorite hikes in Knox County for you to explore – or pick places you already love to go! Complete the Challenge by December 1st and you’ll earn a special t-shirt as a celebration for your accomplishment.
Guided Hikes

Concord Trails
Distance: 5 Miles
Difficulty: Moderate
Starting Location: 10902 S Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN 37922
Starting by the dog park, we’ll follow the wooded, shady Main Loop to Lake Loop along the shores of the lake.
Aspire
Distance: 4 Miles
Difficulty: Moderate
Starting Location: 777 Aspire Drive, Clinton, TN 37716
Starting from the parking lot, we’ll follow the greenway past the playspace to the trails. A gradual incline hike will bring us, to the top or the ridge where we’ll end with a beautiful view of the park.
William Hastie
Distance: 3 Miles
Difficulty: Easy-Moderate
Starting Location: 1302 Margaret Road, Knoxville, TN 37920
The heavily forested trails will feel nice in the summer heat! The trail ranges from easy to moderate with a few technical sections and short hills.
Haw Ridge
Distance: 3 Miles
Difficulty: Moderate-Difficult
Starting Location: 289 Old Edgemoor Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830
Starting from the “Dirt Lab” bike skills area, we’ll take the greenway to the water’s edge and then we’ll keep a nice heart rate as we hike up into the wooded trails and back down.
House Mountain
Distance: 6 Miles
Difficulty: Difficult
Starting Location: 9601 Hogskin Road, Corryton, TN 37721
This one’s a challenge! We’ll hike up the steep ascent to the highest point in Knox Co. The views from the top are well worth the work!
Seven Islands
We’ll see many diverse landscapes as we hike through the park. The greenway will take us over the beautiful French Broad River to the Island Loop Trail, then we’ll hike up the ridge to see beautiful views.
