The 5th Annual Knoxville Sunflower Celebration on Saturday, July 9, brought many sunny faces to Forks of the River WMA on an otherwise overcast day. Visitors came from near and far to see the 70 acres of sunflowers planted by TWRA. The sunflowers provide not only one of Knoxville’s best photo ops, but also food for wildlife and support for pollinator populations.
The event was presented by Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, Legacy Parks, City of Knoxville Parks & Recreation, Visit Knoxville, and Ijams Nature Center.
The sunflowers could bloom through the end of July, so go check them out!
